Cargo Facilities

Working with its partner DP World the Nanaimo Port Authority pursues the loading of diversified commodities along with short sea shipping of containers to and from Vancouver Island and directly to international ports for broader distribution.  Short Sea Shipping is efficient, more cost effective and better for the environment.  The pictures depict the types of cargo or Commodities moving through the Nanaimo Assembly Wharf and the Duke Point Terminals including Break Bulk (Lumber), Liquid Bulk (Petroleum), Logs, Project Cargo, Barge Loading (Steel) and Containers.
